110km today for Shae

Team 5 started today just south of Chadron, NE for their noon to 6pm ride! The motorhome volunteers Rick and Gregg had picked a great spot for the transition at Chadron National Park! We started out in the rain again - it lasted for a few hours, then it turned to drizzle and we finished in rain again! We did 110km today and during one of our rest stops, Shae - who was able to ride again today after having to take a rest day to get over her cold - told us that exactly one year ago today she was having surgery for breast cancer! So we celebrated that milestone and at the end of our ride, Shae took us into the transition area! So proud of you Shae and of the entire team! We are working well as a team, both on and off the road! We are now in Burlington, Colorado which will be close to our ride for tomorrow starting at 6pm! Rick and Ilene, the volunteers with us right now, are such great troopers! They spent 12 hours in the ambulance and then another 3 hours in the van with us driving to our motel here in Burlington! You guys are awesome! Peggy, and the rest of team 5

Hello Joy, There is a Walmart Supercentre in Burlington. Get yourself a car charger. Love you. Doug and daBoyz

As we celebrated our thanksgiving dinner, we went around the table and said what we were thankful for. I'd like to share with you mine.... Be thankful for every year that you get older. Being involved with Cancervive, we see too many of our friends pass away from cancer. So don't complain about the wrinkles on your face and yet another Birthday - celebrate each year that you get older. Love you all, bless all the riders, warriors, volunteers and organizers of both Cancervive and Wellspring. God speed to Austin. Bobbi Pin

What an achievement for you Shae to be riding to Austin one year after your surgery. What a Celebration! Happy Thanksgiving to all the Teams! Good news to hear you are seeing sunshine... Watch for Armadillos as you get farther south! sys Pat F.
