2012 Peloton Project

The Cancervive Peloton Project (CPP) is Cancervive's flagship event aimed at ambassadorship of cancer survivors and awareness of their issues.  The annual 9-day bike excursion from Calgary features a group of 30 riders in pelotons of six, cycling relay style 24 hours a day.  Over the past 7 years Cancervive always picked a destination to a city in the US that hosted a LIVESTRONG™ charity bike ride.

This year we are changing our destination completely and have decided to go to Lewiston, Maine to participate in the Dempsey Challenge.  The riders are leaving from Wellspring Calgary on October 3, 2012.  The Dempsey Challenge weekend will be held on October 13 & 14, 2012. 

Cyclists will arrive in Lewiston, Maine on October 12, 2012 and will participate in the Dempsey Challenge event activities.  Each rider has the chance to sponsor a Warrior to fly to Maine to participate in the weekend's events and celebrate survivorship.  The Warrior Program offers some relief and at the same time gives a dose of hope and inspiration, as the journey through cancer treatment can be a spiritual drain on patients and their families.
