Motivation: What motivates me to ride my bike from Calgary to Austin, Texas is the pure and simple strength of my friend and warrior Tammy.
Tammy is in the process of kicking cancer's a$$ for the third time. As a child at the age of 14 she found out she had non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and after spending her birthday in the hospital receiving chemo she went on to beat the cancer that had her wearing a wig as a young teenaged girl. In her 30's, Tammy was diagnosed with breast cancer which she also beat and now she is courageously showing the world that the bone cancer she has is not going to win the fight it picked with her.
Tammy is the most tenaciously calm collected person I have ever met. She is a mother, wife, daughter and wonderful friend who has been dealt a hand that truly is unfair and unkind. Through all the years that I've known Tammy I dont think I have ever heard her complain for one minute. Through the treatments and pain, she still manages to smile and joke, she is attentive and caring and always remembers to ask how everyone else is doing rather than focus on herself.
If I could bottle up and sell Tammy's wonderful demeanor and absolute unwavering love for the people around her, we would have a solution for most of what ails the world today.
Tammy I love you and I can't wait to get down to Austin togther in October!!
