Rob McFadden

Hometown: Airdrie

Occupation: Business Owner

Warrior: Dallas Morrison / Michelle Clark

Motivation: For those of you who don't know, my wife Tammy has Cancer. She has been battling for over a decade now. I have seen firsthand how difficult it is has been on her, yet you will never hear Tammy complain or put herself before others. Most of the time she handles her treatments better than I do. Anyone who knows Tammy will tell you the first thing out of her mouth is "How are you"? When asked how she is, she will reply "I'm doing fine thank you". Watching her battle this disease, I have learned what it means to be brave, courageous and tough. I have learned grace.
Last year Heather Friesen rode to San Jose, CA, taking Tammy along as her warrior. I was so inspired by the event and the effect it had on the Riders and the Warriors that I had to be a part of it this year.

I will be taking 2 warriors. My little buddy, Dallas Morrison and my good friend Michelle Clark.
At the age of 6, Dallas was diagnosed childhood leukemia. Dallas went through numerous treatments and surgeries, the whole time telling his parents not to worry that he would be fine. Dallas and his family truly are an inspiration and a testament to what families must endure through cancer treatment. Dallas is one of the most amazing and positive people I have ever met and I am honored that he has agreed to be my warrior.
Here is an email from Dallas’s mom regarding his cancer experience:
“Treatment info, Dallas underwent chemo for 2 years and 9 months. He spent 202 days at the Calgary Children's hospital. He had 17 blood transfusions and 3 platelet transf. He had chickenpox and was in a coma for 4 days and isolation for 3 weeks while on treatment, as well as surgery for intasaseptic bowel, and had pneumonia. Through it all he was always positive and tried to keep our spirits up by telling us it was ok and he was fine with it. He lost his hair twice and wondered why the kids at school made fun of him. He missed all of grade 1, half of grade 2 and a quarter of 3 & 4, but is doing well in school today. “

Michelle has now completed her treatments for breast cancer.
Michelle went through her treatments literally as a warrior. The determination and resolve that this lady showed through out this ordeal would rival any gladiator. The whole time Michelle was going through this hell she was raising her family and running her own business. She is a very strong women and I am very proud to know her. Michelle truly has kicked Cancer in the Ass and I am proud to be her rider to continue the battle.

These people amaze me. They endure what most of us would consider hell on earth and come out smiling. They are my inspiration and motivation.
