Motivation: I guess my motivation to do this ride comes from seeing how strong and positive those I know who are battling Cancer are dealing with this horrible disease.
My warrior was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2008 and his tumor was attached to his tailbone. Andy persevered through many chemo and radiation treatments as well as rectal surgery. Not once during any of his chemo or radiation treatments did he lose his sense of humor or zest for life. I truly believe that his positive outlook helped him to find the strength to fight! He is determined to make this just a small blip in his life.
I am also dedicating this years ride to my good friends and last year Warriors, Rhonda Smith and Val LaRue both who continue to fight this battle called Cancer.
As well, I would like to recognize my dear friend Jodie Shypitka who will be in my thoughts every pedal stroke.
