Hometown: calgary
Occupation: Social Worker
Motivation: Someone once asked an award-winning long distance runner if he thought she could become a great runner as well.
"Sure" the athlete replied,"All you need to do is run 15 miles a day for six days a week and then on the seventh, run 25.Do that for a year, and you'll have a good chance of making it."
It has been nearly 12 years since that fateful day in 1998.
The dreaded'C'word.Since then, I have been determined to embrace life through faith (at times compared to an athletic endeavour)and fitness -dragonboating ,walking, running, deep water workouts, and more recently, biking.
In between,I've made use of the services of Wellspring, our local cancer support centre.Yoga classes at Wellspring have gone a long way to keeping me limber, relaxed and strengthened physically and emotionally.
The ride to Austin is one way I can contribute to the services being offered at Wellspring.Every dollar you dontate to support my effort goes toward these services.
I might not be able to run like the award-winning runner, but I hope to have fun finishing this 90 mile ride (you know me!)and will say "Hello" to Lance if you would like me to.
