Motivation: I feel very fortunate to have become involved with Cancervive and the Peleton Project for Austin in several respects. The unfortunate reality is that we will likely all be affected by cancer, whether personally or through family and friends, at some time in our lives. This is an opportunity to give back and hopefully have a positive impact for those surviving and living with cancer. Additionally, there is an emphasis on the positive at Cancervive. From what I have observed, there is a positive energy that is pervasive within Wellspring and the cancer support programs and services that it provides. Having lost my wife, I can definitely relate to the need to having something positive to turn to in difficult times. Finally, there is the motivation of showing my (adorable) daughter the importance of social involvement and giving back, a responsibility that hopefully she will recognize and carry forward.
