WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

CANCERVIVE 2024

The 2024 annual Cancervive Ride for Wellspring event is being held on Saturday, September 14 on the Bow Valley Parkway with each distance starting and finishing at The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre.

Please read details below for the 2024 ride day info:

Ride Package Pickup - (TBD)

Packages can be picked up at one of our sponsor location DECATHLON store at their South Centre Mall location. Click here for location
Along with your Ride Jersey or T- Shirt, each Kit Pick Up bag will also include some bike accessories, nutrition bar and a $10 Decathlon gift card

Event Day

Preparing for the Day of the Event

  • Get ride day ready with this checklist to ensure you are prepared:

    • Your bike is in good working order

    • Well-fitting helmet

    • A spare tube and pump

    • Sunglasses or eye protection

    • Sunscreen & bug repellent

    • Extra layers/rain gear - be prepared, anything is possible in the mountains and we ride rain or shine!

    • Hydration (extra water bottle) and snacks - Aid stations will provide water and food, but you never want to be without water and only you know what your best on the road snack is especially if you have food allergies

    • A clean, lubricated chain

    • Good saddle height

    • Optional: padded cycling shorts, bear spray

  • Big reminder for everyone:  A Park Pass for Banff National park is required to park in Banff

 

Parking

  • The far east parking lot at the Fenlands Centre has been booked for our event, but with the number of people enrolled, you may need to park in the free train parking lot south of the facility.

  • 110 KM Ride (9:00 am Start)

    • 8:30 AM - Riders Check In

    • 8:45 AM- Rider Intro meeting with Group Leads

    • 9:00 AM - Start Ride

  • 75 KM Ride (9:45 am Start)

    • 9:15 AM - Riders Check In

    • 9:30 AM - Rider Intro meeting with Group Leads

    • 9:45 AM - Start  Ride

  • 50 KM Ride (10:30 am Start)

    • 10:00 AM - Riders Check In

    • 10:15 AM - Rider Intro meeting with Group Leads

    • 10:30 AM - Start Ride

  • 25 KM Ride (11:30 am Start) 

    • 11:00 AM - Riders Check In

    • 11:15 AM Rider Intro meeting with Group Leads

    • 11:30 AM Start  Ride


Location

  • Fenlands Centre Banff
    The East parking lot has been reserved for the event, additional free parking is available South of the facility at the Banff Train Station.

     

After Ride Meal

  • 1:45 - 2:45 pm 
    We anticipate all of our riders will start arriving back to the Fenlands Centre around 1:45 pm which is when we will also open our after ride meal.

Draw Prizes

  • Make sure you stick around for the after event draw prizes. There will also be a general draw for all registered riders.
